  Hey Steve. It's been a while but I thought I'd let you know how I got on with the hardtail. I ended up going for I Kona Shred frame. Got the superstar chain device but the didn't like the roller at all so used a blackspire roller from a device I bought for another bike. Seems to work well. The on one ss was tempting but I had used a shred before and liked it. Although it won't take as big a fork it's more of an all-rounder. Took it down the Shambhala DH course in Bulgaria and it felt pretty good. Got a 50mm Nuke Proof stem for DH duties but kept my 80mm AM stem for trail riding. Got me some Maxxis Minion single ply DH tyres with DH tubes but might use lighter tubes for non DH days out as it's a pretty weighty combo. Got a shim so I can use my dropper post but haven't done much trail riding yet as Bulgaria was all uplift stuff so kept the jump saddle and regular post on there. Thanks for the advice by the way.
