Ive been off the bike for a while only managing a couple of rides in the peaks in the snow and ice lol. Just sold my xc bike and im buying a new dh bike for some gravity assisted fun this year. hopefully gonna do some uplifts and a couple of races, then off to france for a week or 2 :)

Hi Sandy, glad u enjoyed whinlatter, bit of a drive tho?! thats always what's put me off so far, but would love to go, could probablyl camp there in summer tho. Yeah we finally got to Gisburn this weekend haha, had a great time, the weather couldn't have been better to be honest clear blue skies all day and really still. Was a little muddy, but it could have been a lot worse. we were riding with a friend who's been out due to injury for a while so we just did the 2nd half of the trail, up by whelpstone crag, sessioned around any bits we liked and did the ususal posing for photos routine haha! we found the downhill track at the end of the day and had about half an hour or so on there just messing about, was nice to throw in a bit of airtime to finish the day. i dont think you should worry too much about black runs, they just tend to have a few more things in quick succession than reds, and are a little more bumps, but other than that there not too bad!!

hey sandybean, hope you had a good weekend? did you get out? we ended up at stainburn this weekend just gone, we cancelled Gisburn at the last minute and we're heading up this saturday now instead...but yeah stainburn is great, its very short and small, but is great for sessioning different bits and just training yourself, we set about the old red run on fri (and myself sat) and just sessioned a section that has about 8/9 berms in a row, great for practicing and getting upto speed. its kind of like a big trail /park for sessioning and there is some super techy stuff to play on in the black. you'll have to let me know if you ever fancy heading up and i'll help with the directions and might bob along ;)
