About me
Cheeky Geordie living in Gateshead.
I can't say I'm some kind of legend on two wheels or that I know more than anyone about bike related stuff but I'm keen and I've got some skill.
I like a bit of banter but don't be too personal otherwise I'll cry, and especially not if you're only twelve and you can't spell.
I like to explore the north east and it's places to ride. I like to write reviews, take photos and make videos.
I'm always looking for locals who know some where good to ride that I don't know about. I live 10 mins from Chopwell and can't wait for the new trails designed for 2008.
Back when I was a kid I had one of those raliegh burner kind of BMX's. I'd spend all my time at my Grandma's house where there was a BMX track on the back field. I was a skinny little thing and the bike was too big and heavy really but I kept going back out there for more after denting my shins or shredding my elbows and knees. I'd be out there so long I'd get blisters on my thumbs. I once saved up £125 and bought a free spirit but it got nicked after 2 weeks. I never had owt that was any good and didn't know anyone who knew much about bikes back then, but now I'm all grown up and I'm back, and I really wana play out. I've been to glentress, Hamsterley Forest, Kielder Deadwater trails and Chopwell. I also want to do newcastleton, Guisborough Forest and Dalby next.
I ride a XC bike at the moment which is nice and comfy for long rides but not much good for jumps and drops

Why Hula? Well, a few years ago i got a bit hammered before an ex girlfriends fancy dress party. Forgot all about it. She rang me and very politely informed me that her party was in full swing but i wasn't there. Couldn't find anything to dress up in apart from a grass skirt. So stuck that on just before i went in. With nowt else on. Burst in. But it wasn't a fancy dress party. All her mates there. Parents. Brother. And me. With a bastard grass skirt on. Hence, Hulaboy. Not good... But i thought it was hilarious at the time. Not so funny the next day... You on facebook dude?

The first 2, its always windy when we go up there, so I never feel up for doing the 3rd one. I cant wait to give it a go, its only half a foot bigger, it just looks deceptive. But I dont fancy my chances in the wind - me and my bike have a combined weight of 3.5kg so I'd probably end up in Swindon. Joy. I buckled a rim at half 3, so my day got cut short. Booo! How was your weekend? Did you get drenched? We managed to avoid the rain - in Wales - I couldnt believe it! x

Ok.... you lost me at sponge. Please stop. My fella isnt on here actually. He's usually too busy reading product reviews. He's not the most social person in the world, absolutely lovely guy, but doesnt do small talk. Put it this way.... I have a personality like a paintball gun, I just let loose and splatter everything, where as Dave is a sniper rifle - he shoots to score. Haha. He's also a much more precise rider than me! Do you and Katie get out riding often? When you arent fixing bones and bikes? x

I have - a broken arm?! That is style!! :S A run-flat what?! How does that work? Does it come with a flat-pack man to do it for you?! Please dont overload me with more information - I JUST CANT COPE!! (Runs back to kitchen and begins to bleach things) Carl is going to Cwm Carn tomorrow and Afan on Sunday, but he said that he'd put a word out. I gave him my mobile number (which I assume is safe?! lol) so he can get in touch should he have any joy. I am "stoked" (as the canadians say) about Sunday, should be great fun. I got no offer of "site girl column" - am most dissapointed. I know my stuff... I could write at least 300 words on how SHIT the pink Hope Mono Minis are...
