Dont know how it happened as i thought it was the internals at first but after two strips and rebuilds the cracking was still ongoing. I posted in the Bike radar forum and rob cole (the bike park bloke) told me he had the same problems. Apparently the steerer tube is wearing away the crown and can lead to fork failure!! Did you not believe the bit about the 30 ft hucks?

yeah he is just the info@moredirt.co.uk Im having probs with my totem at the moment apparently the crown steerer unit is starting to break apart!!! Must be the huge 30ft+ hucks i do!!!

if you are thinking of carlton bank-best check first; as i was only told last week that you are not allowed to ride up there at the mo and the NPS race in Sept is not 100% definate
