I much prefer a shorter stem and unless your an out and out xc racer most people find it makes their bike more responsive/chuckable for trying jumps etc.The longer the stem, the further your pivot/balance point is and the more likely your weight will be forward and potentially increases the chance of going over the bars.so if you like to play about, tryin a few freeride things,i would go shorter,or stay at 80mm for the xc set up.

31.8 on my pitch i think,i bought the sunline v1 737 bars to go with it,much wider than the 660mm i had on there before.feels much more stable and my hands are planted right in the middle of the grips instead of overhanging the bar ends.plenty of other choices out there, but i liked that set up.

I have a sunline 65mm AM stem, they do 80mm ones tho. They are beautifully machined,by far the best looking stem out there in my opinion.I have seen them for £56 quid on All terrain cycles but search it abd you may find better.

cheers mate, we found some lads on there way to the jumps, they showed us to sets, the small ones we ridable but the others with the coregated metal in the middle were not. I'm told that there is two more sets one near glanville place and another set near the cycle speedway track off to the right down the hill is that right.
