I take mine apart all the time to change the u-trn spring to a fixed spring for downhill. Just take off the lefthand top cap ,grease the spring and drop it in and preload as required.Unless you weigh more than 200lbs a medium spring is fine it is for me and i've not bottomed it yet althogh the compression damper takes the sting out of big hits. Have yopu modded the moco damper by taking out the biggest shim yet.It really transforms the fork
