nah, I will be able to ride a bike before winter is fully here, but it still would be unwise and I'd rather let it heal properly. I'm going to be doing some gentle rides over winter with my flatmate as we're training for the 'peak-to-peak' a quad-athlon event between the two ski resorts surrounding queenstown - have also found some 20-30 minute dh runs locally too, they look super fun, one is about 15mins of non-stop roots and big pot-holes/terrain drops finally leading onto a purpose built 5min A-line style trail which ends up at the top of town; another is about 20mins+ of very steep switchbacks and even steeper bumpy/rutted fire-roads leading onto another purpose built very fast and bermy dh track - then there's 'dirtpark' a 30min purpose built fun-style dh/park trail with jumps and obstacles all the way down! :-) have yet to ride any of them yet due to injury, will do so next year, hopefully you be around then?!

p.s. my cast is off and making slow recovery, wrist hardly moves at all at the mo' but will get it back eventually!
