| Was an occasional mountain biker then just slipped out of the sport about 8 years ago. Pretty much non of the trail centres existed then and I was bored of doing the same local round. My epiphany moment was when we stayed at a hotel near Peebles and I tried Glentress in September 08. Even though I was on what must have been an 8 year old GT with dodgy rim brakes I thought the place was fantastic. I could not believe how much the bike technology and the trail centres had moved the sport on. I got myself a Commencal Combi Disc and visited Llandegla as often as I could after that. In many ways a renewed obsession with what is, lets face it, a pretty expensive sport could not have come at a worse time because we had twin daughters born in July 08. However I get out when I can and the missus, bless her, lets me off the leash now and again. I have since upgraded to a Specialised Pitch Pro which is at the moment a far better bike than I am a rider but I am keen to try and catch up. |

Not done the shredder mate. Superwol knows it well though.

Yeah, I love that bit too. Ae line trail at Ae forest has similar big features like that but with rocks all over it too. The final descent at the Traquair trail at Innerliethan has some huge bomb holes and big wallride style berms too. Worth a look if that's your thing.

Yeah I really rate the blue trail. Did some tuition using that trail with dirt school. It's got good flow and can be interesting to ride whether you're new or highly skilled. Some lower skill level trails, like you say, are boring and not what I'd call mtb. I would say the little jumps feel a little awkward in places. Like the take-off is too short and steep. I think Glentress is really setting the standard right now when it comes to well designed trails and progressive riding. You likey?

hey. not been out properly since before the snow really. Good time of year to be tinkering with the bike. I've added Elixir CR brakes and an E13 chain guide. Got a van too so got to sell the car and turn the van into a mtb fun bus! Plenty to keep me busy!
