Sopot is a small town at the foot of Stara Planina (mountain range crossing Bulgaria from its west border to the Black Sea). Sopot is easy to access as the main road and the railway from Sofia to Burgas pass trough it. There is also a regular coach line to the neighbouring towns of Klisura and Karlovo (where the road to Plovdiv begins): There is a regular bus line from Karlovo (5 km from Sopot) to Sopot every half an hour from Monday to Saturday noon and every hour at weekends. If you are coming from Sofia (130 km from Sopot) you can take a train from the Central Railway Station to Karlovo (7.15 a.m., 16.00 p.m., 22.15 p.m.), a bus from the international bus station (in front of the Central Railway Station) at 14.30 p.m., a bus to Kazanlak and change in Banya (10 km from Karlovo), or some of the many buses and trains to Plovdiv.
