Cannop Valley Loop, Forest of Dean. - South West

Begining and ending in Parkend, this route takes in some of the Forest of Dean's gnarliest singletrack and only suitable for very experienced riders.

Rideable at most times of the year, but definitely best during the summer months as some sections are very badly affected by wet weather.

Cannop Valley Loop starts off gently, following the family cycle trail to reach Mary-Rose Young's pottery. After crossing the road there's a fairly tough climb to the 'Motorcycle trail', then back up for 'Dowies 2'. Then the long climb to Worcester Lodge and the 'Old Race Track' downhill, before returning along the other side of the valley, back to Parkend.
