Box Woods is a small woodland situated near Corsham, with a network of small downhill mountain bike trails.
The woodland is predominantly made up of mature beech trees so visibility is very good. The ground is very undulated due to collapsed mines underneath the woodland.
This has left the area with lots of bomb holes, jumps, drop off's and other various fun. Recently there has been some riders who have got constructive and built some jumps and drops.
The woodland has excellent drainage, so when the weather turns for the worst, and other venues are just to wet and slippery, then Box Woods always comes up trumps.
It's worth keeping an eye out as there can be ramblers and dog walkers using the woodland, so please respect other woodland users.
Local riders are very friendly and don't forget to explore the entire woodland as there are some hidden gems!

Driving from chippenham on the A4 (london road), head for Bath. you will go through Corsham, straight over at any roundabout. As you leave Corsham you will drive approximately three miles and you will come to Box. As you enter Box you will go over a railway bridge with Box tunnel on your left (this was famously designed by Brunel). Take the first left after the bridge in to a road called Bargates. Drive through the small housing estate and you will come to a T junction. Turn left at this junction up the hill (the hill is called Quarry Hill). Keep driving up the hill and Box woods are on the right. You will come to a grass triangle where the road splits off to the left and right, park here at the top edge of the triangle as there is room for three cars or vans. As you look back in the direction of where you have driven you will see the entrance to the wood with a small jump at the beginning to get you in the mood. Go down the track and it will suddenly open up.
