Trail Description

Mallards Pike Bike Trail, Forest of Dean is a non-technical, but demanding, 9 mile circuit with a good mix of singletrack and fire-roads.

Suitable for most times of the year (except after very wet weather) however, the area around Mallards Pike is renowned for its Bluebells, making this a fantastic ride to do in late April/May. Some tough climbs and a couple of very fast downhills.

Starts with a difficult climb out of Parkend, past New Fancy viewpoint and on towards Lightmoor, where you pick up a singletrack known locally as the 'Dog Walk'. This leads to the start of fairly tough but picturesque climb, up the northern face of Staple-Edge Hill. The long climb to the top is rewarded with straight, and very fast, downhill to the entrance of Mallards Pike car park. A few miles, and a couple of road crossings later, you'll eventually pick up a singletrack leading to a tough climb, then another fast downhill, back to Parkend.
