Their has been trails in Hackett Woods since 1995, and the woods are owned by Willy Grey, a local farmer. The trails are mostly table tops to encourage the next generation of dirt jumpers in Thornbury.
Marcus Bloomfield (current UK BMX champion) comes from Thornbury and he used to blaze these trails with the locals, years ago. Recently a huge style gap jump has now been built. A sweet track runs round the edge of the woods called the Black Rat run, no jumps, just a simple trail which needs pump lumps and berms but still fun to ride.
