If you like lung-busting long climbs, bermed singletrack and hard technical rock riding then the Traquair XC Trail will bring a big smile to your face. The 19km ride combines red-graded track with some black-graded sections.
It starts and finishes at the world-class Red Bull Project Downhill venue and steadily climbs 570 metres all the way up to the top of Minch Moor. (The moor is quite exposed so make sure you have appropriate clothing).
The effort is rewarded when you get to the top with the high speed berms on the way down. The fun doesn’t stop here though as you’ll be challenged with very tricky rock sections of Plora Craig which will test your balance to the limit. The finish to the trail already has bikers talking.
You’ll be able to tell that the trail has been designed by a XC rider and built by a downhiller. Following the trail down the steep side of Traquair forest, Caddon Bank is a 2km roller coaster ride full of rock steps, big hucks, a huge bombhole and swoopy berms.
We recommend you look at the jumps before you ride them – some are big! With 90 per cent of the trail being sublime singletrack we’ll expect you’ll be back again.
