There are various routes and trails along the coastline, through woodlands, up small hills to viewpoints. There are some great views looking across Stornoway Harbour.
There are different routes through the grounds of the castle ranging from 3km-6km, and suitable for a wide range of abilities.

Castle Grounds, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS2 0XP, GB The Woodland centre located in the Castle grounds. It's easy to miss the turn off point on the road out to it as it's hidden away in the trees but once you get down the road you are greeted to a beautiful view of Stornoway surrounded by trees, wildlife and oversized carvings of the Lewis Chess Men.
