Chicksands - Freeride Area - East Midlands

ChickShore – Inspired by the Canadian Vancouver “North Shore” constructions, this consists of a series of elevated wooden ramps and runs designed to test balance and bike control.

Ladder Drop – This is for experienced mountain bikers riding a suitable bicycle and wearing appropriate body armour.

Log Drop - This is for experienced mountain bikers riding a suitable bicycle and wearing appropriate body armour.

Bomb Holes – a network of short trails through a series of interconnected bomb holes

Downhill Runs – These start from the top of the Freeride Area and run down to the bottom over a series of drops and jumps. The easier of these is used as the Red XC.

Follow the A507 past Ampthill towards Shefford At the roundabout with the A600 just before Shefford take the first exit towards Bedford Continue to follow the A600 over the next Roundabout Rowney Warren will be on your left Turn left down Sandy Lane to the main car park From the A1 (heading south) Turn left onto the A421 (towards Bedford) at the Black Cat roundabout Follow the A421 onto the Bedford Bypass and the follow the signs for the A600 to Shefford Follow the A600 past Cotton End and Dead Mans Cross · Rowney Warren will be on your right Turn right down Sandy Lane to the main car park From the A1M (heading north) Exit at Junction 10 (Baldock exit) turn left onto the A507 Follow the A507 to Shefford Turn off onto the A600 towards Bedford at the roundabout with the A507 Continue to follow the A600 over the next Roundabout Rowney Warren will be on your left Turn left down Sandy Lane to the main car park
