Billinge Wood Trails consist of two mountain bike trails called 'Tricky sixty' and 'Trail of two trees' graded red and black. Both are each approximately 600m in length and local cyclists now have over 1km of new built trail to enjoy.
The new trails form a figure of eight loop within the woods and are designed to offer cyclists a challenging and technical cycling experience catering for experienced and also budding mountain bike riders.
The trails will be fully signed informing riders about the nature of the route with the majority graded as Red (for proficient mountain bikers) and a few sections for the more expert mountain bikers graded as Black.
The scheme has received the full support of the local cycling community and people are already starting to visit the trails from across Lancashire and the North West.
The trails have been designed by Architrail Ltd and constructed by Dinsdale Moorland Services Ltd and financed through Blackburn with Darwen's Second Local Transport Plan.
