Twyford Wood is an interesting woodland for mountain bikers due to it's history means it offers a choice of hard, wide tracks to ride down, or smaller, more secluded paths to explore.
The wood was a second world war airfield, RAF North Witham, and still retains many military artefacts, including the wide open runways and the derelict control tower. The concrete runways make for excellent all-weather cycle routes.
