Taken from the fantastic Beyond Hamsterley guide this is an amazing cross country loop that takes in a huge variety of trail surfaces including a fair bit of quiet road.
From Edmundbyers you'll make your way to Blanchland on a 6km stretch of road before climbing up onto the fell, through a small section of Slaley Forest, across some more sublime moorland single track and on to a little place Called Baybridge where you'll be faced with one hell of a tough climb on tarmac up to Edmundbyers Common. You'll be rewarded for the climb many times over with the superb descent back to Edmunbyers. Don't let a stretch of road here and there put you off. This route really is spot on.
