Has it really been a year since last years Core Bike show? Well we headed up once again to check out some of the latest gear on show. Most of it was not much different from last year but here a few bits that caught our eyes. Last year Hope were displaying a prototype version of their first platform pedals but this year its looks like we have the finished product. With a huge platform and adjustable bearing preload these pedals are as high end as they come but with a price tag of £150 they are certainly not cheap. Available mid spring. Also yet not so new are the Hope prototype cranks. Last year these were just a raw bit of CNC'd metal but now they look as if they are coming to finishing stages. Here though what really interested us was the clever little chain device system on this 1X10 setup. Using a bash ring and a small top guide this system was originally designed for cross racing but Woody says that it also works well on a mountain bike. Pivot were displaying this cool looking M4X short travel freeride/4X/dirt jump bike. With some nice features like the Kashima Fox shock and tapered steerer tube this looks like a pretty playful bike. eThirteen had some new bits out on show, including these pedals. Featuring interchangeable plastic inserts on the fronts so if you do smash them up, they are easily replaceable. They have also adopted the bearing tensioners, so you can run them your preferred fast or slow. The SDG Storm saddle is not so new but what is new is that its now available in a standard rails option. Instead of having to buy an I-Beam seat post to have one. Used and designed by Fabian Barel, the guys at Mojo have produced a production model of this very effective mud guard. Available for all forks sizes and priced at £59.99. Something very new is this Fox Suspension dropper seat post. It features 3 positioning (climbing, flat-descend, steep descend) and a standard cable lever remote.
