Had the same problem last year!
Instead of 4 of us staying in a b & b for £50, it ended up £20 each and we had to stay in a tent!!!
Also my best riding buddy has an xc bike and turns his nose up at any street riding / jumps, so I end up riding with kids half my age (but just as good/ better) I meet at local spots.
I live in the thick of London, so its a long train journey to get anywhere decent and most of my old riding buddy's just can't be bothered with "all the hassle"
It's a PITA, but I'm used to it now.
You should try and meet some locals on here, people who share your passion, or join a club!

Its worse when your mates live over an hour away, and always riding, and you have to go out on your own . I need some much more local riding mates!
