Yeah drive side anti clockwise to remove
Non drive side is clockwise to remove

Remember to grease the threads when you refit some and that will make it easy to get off in future

your pedals might have a allen key side, usually 8mm, or maybe extend the arm of the spanner, it would be better to use a proper pedal spanner cos they are very strong and have good leverage

they both unscrew as if you were pedaling backwards, i.e put the spanner on and turn the cranks back. if you can, (its a bit extreme though) heat up the cranks very hot then douse the pedal cold, this WILL un seize it, you may need to go to a local garage and ask them.

every time i have had to remove pedals they have mostly been on tight so i thinks its normal. when i removed mine i put some oil it the threads from the backs of the crank arms and let the oil soak in i think it helped worth a try.

Soak the axel with WD40 / GT85.
Use a good quality spanner (preferably not a monkey wrench) put a pipe over the end of the spanner to give you more leverage...... and robert's your dad's brother.... off they will come.

If not, you're turning the wrong way, or the pedal has "cold welded" to the crank arm.

I've found a couple of times that what I needed to do was attach the wrench at about a 45 degree angle, put the crank on the floor and just stomp on the wrench. The quick sharp application of force tends to dislodge the pedal allowing you to loosen it easily by hand.

It's probably not the most ideal method, but has worked for me a bunch of times
