places to ride in and around manchester?

hello im from manchester,just wondering if theres any decent places to ride without worrying about getting bike nicked!im into it all just want 2 ride summut decent ,i no few places but there got to be more sum where?

look on the tracks & trails bit theres quite a few places nearby a favourite of mine is lee quarry its just past rochdale n is quality! theres now a link route to another place called cragg quarry which in my opinion is just as good as lee so theres more than enough to do there u should check it out!

the link route isnt signposted tho tbh so id do ur homework before u go u can find maps/directions on google etc

Alright I'm currently in stretford,its a pain not much 2ride plus hav 2 hitch a ride2go any where decent cant always get transport?round here's full of thieving hoodies!very careful where I ride to!had bikes stolen in past.

i think there shud be some way of getting are bikes to these places for thos that dont have cars like a bus or some form ov transport

im out in rochdale,

quite a lot of riding out this way. From Lee Quarry to Littleborough and then there is lots of secret tracks and spots that have been built which I am sure you will learn about once you are in the right circles.

in short there is loads about it just takes time to get to know about a lot of the spots.

yeah not much up that way mate im in stalybridge loads here but gets boring
need new trails never done littleborough looks good need to try lee and cragg
aswell.but yeah like a ring and ride for bikes would be good

Get the train to bolton or horwich and you could go to rivington

rochdale luks perfect for me in them pics,i probly cud ride to picadily and jump on train,bin rochdale on foot in past its only a few stops from picadily.would i get any problems bringin bike on train?

no your fine mate theres spaces for bikes on the trains iv been on loads of times
think im gonna give lee and cragg a try on thursday thats not far from there

Have you been to Farmer Johns? Picadilly station to marple, walk for 10 minutes and it's a really good spot, i come from clitheroe to ride there a lot.

i thought u needed permission to go on farmer johns he closes it off to the public doesnt he or have i heard wrong?
